Café on the Park

JigsawPlus_cafe

Jigsaw’s Café on the Park, is a social enterprise providing a thriving café service to the local community on and around Dunsfold Park, as well as delivering stimulating, creative and individualised vocational learning opportunities to autistic adults.  As one of the enterprises run by Jigsaw Trust, we can match fulfilling, appropriate and enjoyable learning opportunities within environments that are safe, caring and supportive.

The Café is situated in close proximity to JigsawPlus in order to provide the adults we support with an opportunity to work, fully supported, within a busy catering environment and to experience a wide range of activities, tailored to their individual abilities and tolerance levels.

Working alongside the Café Manager and other members of the Café staff, the adults we support are very much involved with the smooth running of the day-to-day business. This helps to boost their confidence, promotes a feeling of well-being and enables the acquisition of transferable life skills.

Additionally, the Café kitchen provides the infrastructure for learners to access a number of different cooking and baking skills programmes and certificates of achievement.

All adults accessing JigsawPlus are also given plenty of opportunities to visit the Café as customers, ordering and paying for their food and beverages, and sitting amongst other visitors to the Café. This encourages social interaction and, in turn, helps develop important social skills, in a caring and understanding environment.

All JigsawPlus enterprises are available to 16-18 year olds (SEN) through prior arrangement with their schools.
